Having lived in a remote Aboriginal community, Looma, for many years it is very important to have community input into research.  Aboriginal families have long felt over researched and have not always seen the benefits of research translate to impact for their communities and often cultural governance is not followed.  By having community play an active role in the research process, it is a great feedback mechanism but also adds a holistic and authentic component to research undertaken.
